Therapies
Unlike traditional hypnosis, which is directive, Ericksonian hypnosis is a gentle method, respectful of the patient’s autonomy and aimed at giving him back power over his life.
Everyone knows the hypnotic state because we experience it spontaneously and several times a day when we are, for example, on the moon or absorbed by a movie. These are altered states of consciousness. The difference is that in hypnotherapy, this state is intentionally induced.
Hypnosis allows you to overcome the limiting beliefs of the conscious, those that prevent you from revealing your inner resources.
In session, hypnosis leads you to disregard the surrounding reality while remaining in contact with your guide. So you stay in control throughout the session.
In Ericksonian hypnosis, you are an agent of change. It is you who possess all the necessary resources and who work within yourself; I am simply guiding you on your personal path.
During the first session, we will establish a positive and precise objective before starting this inner journey together to discover your own resources. For this, I will use an indirect approach based on the metaphorical language specific to your unconscious.
- To access the unconscious and inner resources.
- To learn to relax.
- To act on the psyche (self-confidence, anxieties, traumas, etc.)
- To reduce psychological resistance.
- The sessions can be supplemented by a psychological follow-up.
The psychological support that I offer is based on benevolent listening and empathy in a neutral setting where you can express yourself freely and confidentially. The objective is to encourage introspection in order to accelerate change, to accompany the person who comes in consultation towards a more fulfilling functioning and to transmit to him methods to solve his psychic sufferings. It is then a question, for the patient, of appropriating them in order to be able to use them by himself.
The goal of therapeutic work is to overcome the difficulties and problems that hinder daily life. During the psychological follow-up, the person is encouraged to explore their emotional experience in order to acquire greater inner freedom. Thus, meeting a psychologist can contribute to the gradual implementation of one course of elaboration and transformation going in the direction of this gain of freedom.
My approach is integrative. Thus, according to the request and the needs expressed during the sessions, I use the knowledge offered by different theoretical approaches (psychoanalytic, systemic and family, humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, etc.)
The first appointment makes it possible to evaluate the reason for the consultation, the request for care and thus to decide on the type of follow-up.
A personal desire, request and determination: you have to realize yourself that you need help. Determination is the main factor in the success of any psychological follow-up. In practice, determination translates into respect for the established framework: the patient’s assiduous and regular attendance at appointments, the payment of missed sessions and the putting into practice, outside of sessions, of the concepts and methods transmitted during the appointment.
The skills of the therapist are based on this determination and are also essential to the success of the accompaniment.
The relationship with the psychologist is a crucial element in healing, but it absolutely requires the determination of the patient as well as the skills of the professional.
Engage: be ready to speak openly and ask questions. Dare to challenge the therapist when something is unclear.
- In order to better understand oneself, to live better on a daily basis, to develop strategies to overcome psychological difficulties.
- Learn to contain and manage your suffering and emotions.
- The follow-up can be completed by a hypnotherapy approach.
